Our mission

LSelb Sports’ mission is to build a culture of youths that are driven academically, as well as being better equipped to thrive as future leaders in the Erie County, Pa., area, which has consistent increasing poverty rates well above the state and national levels.

LSelb Sports’ primary goal is to cultivate local resources to provide a safe hub where underprivileged youth, grades 5-12, can acquire the necessary tools to succeed educationally, socially and professionally.

Erie-area youth centers often stop services by 6 p.m. when many kids still need constructive outlets. Children who have no safe space to go seek support from the streets, especially when they’re left alone, unmotivated and without role models.

Through mentorship, tutoring, undertaking team sports activities and sharing life experiences, LSelb Sports seeks to instill confidence by building self-esteem.

LSelb Sports also exposes children to different career paths and encourages them through help with: job applications; college testing preparation and fee waivers; practice interviews; proper interview attire; transportation to open houses or campus tours; and book costs.
